Shmuel, one of DVI’s elderly patients in the Smiles for Seniors program, returned to the clinic on June 2nd for the first time since Israel’s stay-at-home orders took effect in mid-March. Senior patients are now allowed to receive elective treatments and Shmuel was very happy to be back to continue the care necessary to receive his free dentures.
Gabay, a senior with special needs also returned on that day. Half of the senior patients seen at DVI on June 2nd had been mid-treatment when the shutdown occurred. They are all extremely excited to know that they will get their new dentures soon. The compassionate care our seniors receive will lift their spirits and restore their smiles.
In the first three years (2016-2019) of the Smiles for Seniors program, 395 indigent seniors, half of them Holocaust survivors, received free dentures thanks to our supporters. That’s over $1 million in care for those who were suffering due to tooth loss, or broken or ill-fitting dentures. Today they are smiling and very thankful for the gift they have received!
Your donation today will allow DVI to continue to treat patients like Shmuel and Gabay. Jerusalem’s seniors need our help. Change a life today with your gift!
