DR. LAYNE MARTIN – Dr. Martin is a native New Yorker. He graduated from SUNY Stony Brook Dental School, where he received a scholarship from the US Navy. After a career in the US Navy, he went on to become a mentor at the Kois Center in Seattle, which is an evidence-based teaching center. Dr. Martin was introduced to Dental Sleep Medicine through Dr. Barry Raphael and Dr. Mark Cruz. He completed the Airway Mini Residency Program (AMR) and went on to train with Dr. Steve Galella and Dharmesh Parbhoo of the Facial Beauty Institute on Craniofacial Orthopedics. He also was a member of the Spencer Study Club, where he received training on Sleep Medicine and TMD. Dr. Martin recently completed the TUFTS Dental Sleep Medicine Residency, and is slated to take the Dental Sleep Boards in September 2020. After 15 years as a restorative dentist, he sold his practice in 2019 and is currently a fellow in an Orthodontic and Craniofacial Orthopedic residency program. He eventually plans to specialize in treating children and adults who suffer from Sleep Disordered Breathing and craniofacial anomalies.
DR. YARON HAVIV – Dr. Haviv is the senior physician in the Oral Medicine Department and Faculty of Dental Medicine at Hadassah Medical Center, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Israel. He is the Head of the Orofacial Pain Clinic in the dental medical school at Hadassah Medical Center and a publisher of several articles regarding dental sleep medicine/dental appliances in obstructive sleep apnea.
DR. JOANNE INGLEBY – Dr. Ingleby graduated in 1989 from Leeds University and in 1993 (Psychology) from Manchester University. She has practiced general dentistry for over 30 years with interests in root canal treatment and management of anxious patients. Dr. Ingleby developed interest in Dental Sleep Medicine about 15 years ago – as either the snoring or her husband had to go. She has been making appliances and is now working closely with the Manchester Sleep Clinics and accepting referrals as part of their apnea service.
DR. LES PRIEMER – Dr. Priemer graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry in 1972. Since then he has been practicing general dentistry in Toronto. He is a member of the Ontario Dental Association, the North Toronto Dental Society, and Alpha Omega on whose executive board he served for many years. Since 1995, he has had a special interest in the treatment of sleep-disordered breathing. He is a member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, having sat on its certification committee in 2003-2004. He consults with a number of sleep diagnostic centers, has given numerous presentations to sleep/general hospital rounds, physicians, respiratory technicians and dentists. He has presented to the Ontario Dental Association Spring Meeting and has authored articles on sleep-disordered breathing for the Ontario Dental Association Journal and the Canadian Dental Protection Association.
Dr. Priemer, a diplomat of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, has also served on the Dental Advisory Committee for Dental Services Group both locally and internationally.
